Description
This paper reports on a comprehensive strain analysis that was performed on a high transition temperature superconductor (YBa2Cu3Ox) disk under diametral-compression. THe deformations were successfully measured by the Grating Objective Speckle Method. A sequence of whole field fringe patterns could be observed in different diffraction orders. Displacement component contour maps in the two principal directions and at ±45 degrees were extracted with a High Frequency Optical Fourier Transform Analyzer. The resolution was up to 1/2400 mm or 0.416 μm. The experimental investigation has yielded qualitative and quantitative results for the biaxial strain distribution
