Description
High temperature pH measurement in the primary and secondary coolant system of nuclear reactors on a continuous basis is gaining importance in recent years. High temperature pH measurements were carried out in a static autoclave using yttria stabilised zirconia (YSZ) probe as pH sensor and Ag/AgCl as internal reference electrode for boric acid and LiOH mixtures at temperatures between 423K and 523K. The precision of pHT measurements were found to be satisfactory though dilution of the filling solution of the internal electrode compartment contributed to the deviation in the pH measured when compared to the computed values.
