Law on wastes November 2020 - October 2021

The author proposes a synthesis of evolutions of the French and European law and regulation on wastes, notably within the framework of the law related to the struggle against wastage and to circular economy. These evolutions first concern modalities of waste management: overview and comment of prescriptions applicable to installations concerned with wastes, and to bodies and actors of waste management, case of radioactive wastes, case of works wastes, case of bio-wastes, case of special wastes (packaging of some medical wastes), arrangements related to waste sorting and valorisation, and general orientations of the French and European laws on wastes. The author then addresses responsibilities regarding wastes by discussing sectors with an extended responsibility of the waste producer, and decrees related to criminal responsibility, and by briefly evoking tax issues related to wastes
