Peculiarities of equilibrium motion in a linear accelerator with a step variation pf phase velocity
Description
Longitudinal quasiequilibrium motion in a meson factory linear accelerator consisting os sectionf with equidimensional acceleration periods is investigated. Peculiarities of particle dynamics related to the presence of double motion periodicity have been analyzed. It is shown that effective phase velocity of a structure depends not only on the acceleration microperiod length but also is determined with a ''section+drift gap'' macroperiod value. The relations obtained permit to correct beam parameters in a real accelerator with errors of section fabrication and assembling
