Mass-spectroscopy of ions emitted under micrometeoroid particles with massive materials collision

Description

Using electrostatic accelerator of microparticles equipped with time-of-flight mass-spectrometric converters, mass spectra of ions, emitted in collisions of metal particles of micron sizes with the velocity v=0.15-15 kmxc-1 with metallic targets are obtained. It is shown that at v<1 kmxc-1 ion emission is caused by electric discharge appearing in case of approaching to the target of a charged microparticle. Possible contribution of the emission mechanism at higher collision velocities is discussed
