Proving test on thermal-hydraulic design base reliability of BWR fuel assembly
Description
Nuclear Power Engineering Test Center (NUPEC) completed critical power test by simulated full scale assemblies to prove thermal-hydraulic design base reliability of BWR fuel assembly. This report describes experimental apparatus, experimental data and evaluation results. The test assemblies used in this test simulate BWR fuel. Heat from fuel assembly is generated by electrical joule heating. The test apparatus is able to control system pressure, flow rate and heat generation of test assembly to realize the steady and transient phenomena as observed in BWR core. Steady and transient critical power, single and two phase pressure loss of assembly and void fraction at exit of test assembly were measured. In steady state critical power test, 592 data were obtained. These data were compared with the design correlation GEXL, several critical power correlations and with the results of subchannel analysis. Transient critical power test data were evaluated with transient analysis code (SCAT). All the data agreed well with the calculated results derived from the methods of BWR core thermal-hydraulic design base. (author)

軽水型原子力発電所の設計、建設、運転において、燃料集合体の信頼性は最も重視されているものである。特に、最大熱負荷(以下、限界出力)に代表される燃料集合体の熱水力特性は、世界各国で多大の費用と時間をかけて試験がなされており、今日、我が国においてはその成果を技術導入という形で受け入れ、軽水炉の設計に適用してきた。しかし、国内における原子力発電所の運転実績が積み重ねられるに従って、日本独自の技術を採り入れた軽水炉の改良が進められており、今後原子力発電所の稼働率を向上させ、さらに広く国民の理解を得ていくためには、燃料集合体について我が国独自の試験を行い燃料の諸性能を確認していくことが要請されていた。この認識を踏まえ、沸騰軽水型原子炉(BWR)燃料集合体の熱水力設計手法の信頼性を実証する目的で燃料集合体最大熱負荷試験(以下、最大熱負荷試験)を実施した。試験は(財)原子力工学試験センターが磯子工学試験所に設置した最大熱負荷試験設備を使用して行なった。本報では、試験の内容および試験データに基づいて現行BWR炉心熱水力設計手法の信頼性の評価を行なった結果について報告する。(著者)Additional details
