Theoretical analysis of thermal interactions between molten reactor materials and water

Description

A physical model and a calculation code have been developed in order to analyse fuel-coolant-interactions (FCI) with water as coolant. Examples of calculations performed for UO2-water and steel-water interactions are presented. For the evaluation of the thermophysical properties of water in the range up to 3000 K and 10000 bar, a set of new formulae had to be developed. (author)
