Assessment of relative risk of a disease or death in selected exposed cohorts

Assessment of the effects of some non-traditional factors on the extent of relative risk of disease or death from external exposure in groups of subjects selected for radiation accident response is performed. Data base of the register of the Chernobyl accident liquidators engaged in atomic industry was used. The relative risk was assessed using the Poisson regression model. A relationship between exposure and relative risk of some diseases and death is demonstrated. Results of analysis of the relationship between the relative risk of disease or death of liquidators from the absorbed dose may be erroneous if factors associated with the dose and affecting the morbidity and mortality are disregarded
