Description
The radioactive wastes produced during decommissioning work of nuclear reactor facilities including buildings, structures, vessels, equipments, instruments and apparatus are to be treated according to the nuclear safety regulations for people and the environment and finally disposed under the ground. The paper explains an importance of the reduction of volume of radioactive wastes in a stabilized conditions, the record maintenance, and disposal methods depending on radioactivity levels. Furthermore, it explains the case of non-radioactive wastes generated, the clearance level and the clearance system leading to the reuse. The expense for the disposal is briefly stated. (S. Ohno)
