Description
The k0-based internal mono standard INAA method (k0-IM-NAA) has been developed and applied for the determination of elemental concentrations in non-standard geometry samples at the Dalat research reactor (DRR). The experiments were implemented at the rotary specimen rack for k0- IM-INAA and thermal neutron beam at the No. 2 channel for k0-IM-PGNAA, respectively. The main results of the project are as follows: 1) Digitalize of the MCA for gamma spectrometer; 2) Improvement of the Compton suppression mode for PGNAA system; 3) Development of k0-IM-NAA for INAA and PGNAA; 4) Development of the k0-IM software; 5) Establishment of procedures of relevant developed technique in the project. The procedures have been evaluated by analysis of standard reference materials for which they are meeting the requirements of multielement analysis for the intended applications. The k0-IM-NAA has been applied for quantitative elemental analysis in large and non-standard geometrical samples, in particular for archaeology, forensic materials as well as geological studies at DRR.
