A Citizen's Perspective on Reversibility: Observations from the Citizens' Conference on the Long-term Management of High-level and Long-lived Radioactive Waste in Belgium
Description
After having briefly presented the context of the draft plan for the long-term management of processed high-level radioactive waste which has been drawn by the Belgian Agency for Radioactive Waste and Enriched Fissile Materials (ONDRAF/NIRAS), the author presents the methodology of the citizens' conference organised by the ONDRAF/NIRAS as part of the public consultation process. He gives an overview of the most striking recommendations among the 30 ones drawn by the citizen's panel, and comments the place given to reversibility in the waste management plan, at the conference, in the draft waste management plan, and after the statutory public consultation process
