Description
This publication briefly presents some characteristics of an earthquake which occurred in Kent: magnitude, location and depth, perception by the population, collected intensities, associated mechanism, past events. It discusses aspects related to the knowledge of seismicity in the Dover step, and briefly indicates the impact on the closest nuclear installations, in this case the Gravelines power plant in France where the earthquake has not been perceived by the staff and the accelerometer detection threshold was not overrun
