Description

In order to investigate neutron flux effects on microstructures and mechanical properties of 20% cold worked 316 stainless steels (20% CW316SS), we performed transmission electron microscope observations, tensile tests and hardness tests for 20% CW316SS that were irradiated in EBR-2 with comparatively low flux. Yield stress, ultimate tensile strength and uniform elongation are almost the same as those measured using 20% CW316SS irradiated with 10 times higher flux. Flux effects on precipitates in the specimens are not observed. Then apparent flux effects on mechanical properties and microstructures are not observed. (author)
