Interfacial activity of 4-decylphenylamine in model extraction systems

  • 1. Poznan Technical Univ. (Poland). Inst. of Chemical Technology and Engineering

Description

Interfacial activity of 4-decylphenylamine was studied in model extraction systems. Szyszkowski equation, logarithmic polynomial and the spline function give similar estimations of adsorption parameters (surface excess and molecular area) in model systems of various acidities of the aqueous phase which do not contain electrolyte. They deviate significantly in systems containing NaCl. Interfacial activity of 4-decylphenylamine rises with an increasing aqueous phase acidity. Interfacial tension falls to low values in systems containing 3M HCl in aqueous phase. The formation of microemulsions is possible. (author) 30 refs.; 2 figs.; 5 tabs
