MHD-stable plasma confinement in axisymmetric mirrors
Description
It is shown that it is possible to provide, with reference to U-shape modes (both to global and small-scale), stable sharp boundary plasma confinement in the axisymmetric open trap. In this case, stability takes place in the framework of approximation of ideal magnetic hydrodynamics ignoring effects of the finite Larmor ion radius
