MR and dynamic CT in the evaluation of cardiovascular complications of congenital lesions

Description

Twelve children, 4 weeks to 19 years of age, underwent MR imaging or dynamic CT (DCT) to assess complications of existing congenital heart disease. In each case (12 of 12) a significant abnormality was identified by MR imaging (five of 12) or DCT (seven of 12). Thirteen abnormalities were identified and included aneurysms (five), dissections (one), obstruction (two), anastomotic leak (two), thrombi (two), and calcifications (one). No significant findings were missed by either MR imaging or DCT based on correlation with echocardiographic, angiographic, and surgical data
