Use of the fluff fin heat transfer code in flask thermal analysis

Description

Transport flasks often have a large number of fins attached to their surface in order to dissipate the decay heat generated by the fuel. A finite element model of such a flask, used to study its thermal performance, can be significantly simplified if the fins are not represented. Their effect then has to be included in the boundary condition applied to the surface of the model. FLUFF is a finite difference computer program which has been written especially to calculate such boundary conditions. (author)
