Origin of Unidentified Structures in Resonant Dissociative Photoionization of H2

Description

We present theoretical evidence that strong interference effects between resonant and nonresonant amplitudes are responsible for unidentified peaks observed in recent experiments on dissociative photoionization of H2 . We show that, at photon energies smaller than 27eV, the various peaks can be explained in terms of a single 1Σ+u doubly excited state. copyright 1997 The American Physical Society
