Twisted symmetry breaking on the projective hypersphere: a model of the small cosmological constant

Description

A model is considered in which the gravitational action effectively depends upon the symmetry-broken vacuum state associated with a twisted scalar field theory. It is suggested that the observation of a small cosmological constant, despite predicted vacuum contributions typically of the order 10-6 cm-2, is a consequence of our location in the universe.
