Breakdown voltage characteristic of a pseudospark device

Description
The breakdown voltage of a pseudospark device is measured for a wide range of gas pressure and anode--cathode gap distance. The data are analyzed by least-squares-fit methods, and the breakdown voltage is expressed by an empirical function of the gas pressure and the anode--cathode gap distance. It is found that the breakdown voltage is a function of p2d, the product of the pressure squared and anode--cathode gap distance.
