Damping of giant resonances

  • 1. Galileo Galilei Univ. of Padua (Italy). Dipartimento di Fisica

Description

The present understanding of the damping mechanism for single-particle states and giant resonances is briefly reviewed with emphasis on the surface coupling model and the temperature dependence. Recent calculations of the gamma-decay of the giant vibrations are discussed. (orig.)
