Description

The data acquisition and processing system of TRISTAN has been investigated by DAP group. Hardware and software tools have been studied. The tasks include the standardization of the data bus, the standardization of interface, the selection of a host computer for online measurement, to provide the software and hardware interface between the online and offline systems, the specification of the data format, the determination of microprocessor support, the design of the monitoring system and network with an accelerator or a central computer and so on. The amount of data size for the typical TRISTAN experiments was estimated. A new bus structure other than CAMAC and/or FASTBUS would not be used as the standard for the TRISTAN data acquisition system. The FASTBUS standard was defined in the document published by US NIM Committee. Brief description of the present system is presented. (Kato, T.)
