The ground-state gK factors of the odd 165-177Yb isotopes

Description
In this study, the secular equation for the energy shift of unpaired single quasiparticle state of the odd nuclei due to the quasiparticle-phonon interaction is obtained. In addition, analytical expressions for gK and effective spin gseff factors are firstly derived in the framework of the Quasiparticle-Phonon Model. The gK and gseff factors of the odd-mass 165-177Yb isotopes have been numerically calculated by using the realistic Saxon-Woods potential. The dependence of the gK factor on the (n-n) and (p-p) spin interaction parameters χσ =κ/A MeV and n-p interaction parameter q is investigated for these isotopes. The experimental gK values were computed by using the observed magnetic moments and the appropriate gR values of these isotopes. The theoretically obtained gK and gseff values are compared with the experimental data. The results have indicated that theoretical predictions for the gK factors exhibit the similar behavior of the experimental gK factors with increasing mass-number A.
