Dependence of fast (Tsub(k) (>=) 30 MeV) proton multiplicity on the atomic number of nucleus B in the reaction π- + A → p1 + p2 + ... + psub(n) + neutral + A' with 3.73 GeV/c π- meson
Description
Multiplicity distribution of fast protons in the π- + A→ p1 + p2 + ... +psubn + neutr. + A1 reaction is obtained; it is in agreement with the Poisson distribution. Assuming the hypothesis on the Poisson distribution, the mean multiplicity of secondary protons is calculated and it is shown to increase with A. This increase does not contradict the Asup(1/3) dependence
