Furthermore the heat transfer properties are improved by the provision of a counter-current flow between the primary and secondary fluids; also because the hot primary intake is located in the boiling area of the secondary fluid, whilst the cold primary outlet is located in the relatively low temperature area near the water intake. The generator has a pre-heating area that increases the heat transfer rate between the primary and secondary fluids. The C shape of the tubes also helps to reduce the stresses resulting from the expansion differences between the casing and the tubes.
