Spectral characteristics of the interstellar molecule H3O+

The line strengths and probabilities of inversion-rotational transitions of the hydroxonium ion H3O+ are calculated. The expected optical thicknesses of typical interstellar clouds in lines in the radio astronomical range (λ /equal/ 0.8-1.0 mm) are estimated
