Description

Wolfram tailing from mineral dressing consists of SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO, R2O and WO3. A wolfram tailing glass-ceramic contains a substantial proportion of wolfram tailing and other ingredients such as feldspar, limestone, and flux. The nucleating agent is fluorbaryt. This glass-ceramic material comprises wollastonite and gehlenite as the major crystal phases whose morphologies were observed with a scanning electron microscope. The influence of the amount of nucleating agent on crystallization and properties of a glass-ceramic have been investigated
