Some remarks to the physical point of view of computerized tomography

Description

Computerized tomography is compared with conventional biomedical radiography. The following aspects are discussed: the geometry of transmission, the kind of detectors, possibilities to alter the contrast, the resolving power, the artefacts because of movement of the patient and the computerized calculation of structure. Especially possibilities to alter the contrast are discussed and are demonstrated with the help of pictures. (M.J.)
