Experience from utilization of a quick and simple nondestructive gamma spectrometric method for spent fuel burnup verification

Description

An 'Away from reactor storage facility' (AFRS) for prolonged storage of spent fuel from all the Czechoslovak WWER-440 reactors was constructed at Jaslovske Bohunice NPP site. The AFRS is equipped with permanently installed collimator which enables also the utilization of high resolution gamma spectrometric (HRGS) methods for spent fuel verification under IAEA inspection procedures. This paper contains the results of burnup measurements carried out in the AFRS by ise of simple measurement procedure recommended by the IAEA. (author)
