Relative biological effectiveness of photons from 125I at low dose rates
Creators
Description
This laboratory is beginning low dose-rate studies of the radiobiology of 125I photons by comparing their effectiveness in producing reproductive death and mitotic delay in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells in vitro with that of 137Cs gamma rays. Work during the past year has concentrated on dosimetry and on development of facilities to simultaneously provide conditions suitable for cell growth and clinical-range dose rates from 125I or 137Cs
