Ion induced Auger emission: elements of theory

Description

A general approach to consideration of sputtered atoms in excited states is presented. The theory is based on the transport Boltzmann equation in an approximated integral form with account for so called the free particle condition. The probability of excited atoms survival is also accounted for in the mean lifetime of an excited state. The energy spectrum and sputtering coefficient are obtained
