Description
Information regarding the transition phase of a hypothetical accident sequence in a liquid metal fast breeder reactor is summarized. The review covers the current work on phenomenological sequences, molten clad behavior preceding and during fuel melting, boiling regimes with internal heat generation, and freezing of molten fuel-steel mixtures. 51 references
