Assessment of the Philips Diagnost 66 fluoroscopy/radiography system

Description

Overall, the Medio CP50 X-ray Generator, CS62 Ceiling Tube Suspension and Diagnost 66 R/F Table gave good quality radiographs and clinical images, with the on board micro processor allowing flexibility and control adjustments to suit user's requirements. The image intensifier system performed well and consistently throughout the evaluation. The ability to use the undertable bucky for horizontal ray procedures was liked. However, the Diagnost 66 serial changer drive mechanism was rated as poor by many users, because the longitudinal movements were jerky and compression movements heavy. Some other serial changer facilities, such as the x4 split film format, proved to be less than reliable during the evaluation period. The optional extra Digital Image Enhancement System was not popular in clinical use, mainly due to a smearing effect which occurred with object movement. (author)
