HBK project high temperature reactor fuel cycle. Graphite Irradiation Experiment HFR-GG14 - Preirradiation Report - KFA/JAERI
Description
The graphite irradiation experiment HFR-GG 14 is being performed by the Kernforschungsanlage Jülich under contract for the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI). In this experiment the property changes of the Japanese candidate graphite IG11 together with the english graphite SMI-24 (as reference) as a function of the neutron fluence at an irradiation temperature of 1100°C are being studied. A working programme for this experiment has been agreed upon with JAERI and is defined in the HTB-paper ''KFA-JAERI Graphite Irradiation Experiment HFR-GG 14'' from January 1977. This report is the first of two reports on this experiment and contains details of the final capsule layout and the pre-irradiation sample measurements. The second report will be prepared on completion of the post-irradiation examinations.
