Description
The conversion of diacetoxyscirpenol into neosolaniol monoacetate, via allylic bromination with N-bromosuccinimide and acetolysis, is described. An alternative bromination reaction using bromine and silver acetate was also investigated. An X-ray crystal structure of the 8-epimer of neosolaniol monoacetate is reported. 11 refs., 4 figs., 4 tabs
