A solution to the radioiodine volatilization problem

Description
As a result of radioiodine volatility during protein iodinations the researcher is subjected to a significant risk of thyroid uptake while additionally creating a potential for exceeding MPC in the exhaust from the experimental environment. In many cases these problems are the direct result of inadequate fume hoods, fume hood flow rates and the absence of appropriate filters. To overcome these problems an inexpensive and convenient plexiglas iodination box has been built. Construction details and the successful results of performance testing of the simple apparatus are given. (U.K.)
