Radiation induced conductivity of polyethyleneterephthalate and polystyrene

Description
Radiation induced conductivity of PET and PS is investigated under pulse irradiation conditions in vacuum at room temperature. Main emphasis in these studies is laid on the pulse length, dose per pulse, and accumulated dose dependence of the induced conductivity. The observed sublinear dependence of induced conductivity on dose rate at high dose per pulse experiments is shown to arise by a trap-controlled bulk recombination and is well accounted for in terms of the conventional Rose-Fowler formalism. This same model is quite successful in interpretation of the accumulated dose effects. (author)
