On diffractive dissociation in ππ collisions

Description
The diffractive dissociation of the π-meson on the virtual π-meson in emulsion, irradiated by π--mesons with the 14 and 45 GeV/c pulse is studied. The π-+n→p+nπ+-+n0π0 reaction with the production of the slow recoil proton (25<T<400 MeV) and the number n (in the given case-four) of relativistic charged particles is considered. In case of pion on pion diffractive dissociation one of the relativistic particles can be a recoil pion, the others-triproducts of the dissociation. Using the asymmetry factor in the quasirapidity distribution of relativistic charged particles, correlations of the diffractive type have been found. These correlations testify to the possibility of the diffractive dissociation in collisions of π-mesons with virtual π-mesons
