Description
The principles are briefly explained of the radiation inactivation of microorganisms and practical applications are described of radiosterilization. A brief description is given of an irradiation plant for medical supplies near Brno, Czechoslovakia. The plant opened in 1972 is equipped with equipment by Atomic Energy Ltd., Canada with a 60Co source and ranks Czechoslovakia as the leading CMEA country in this field. (L.O.)
