Greenhouse gas and threats to Australia's downstream processing industries

Description

Australia would like to see an 'equitable burden-sharing' , whereby all countries (not only the developed countries) will be involved in greenhouse gas abatement measures. It is argued that mandated cuts, if adopted in December in Kyoto, could put over $20 billion in new resource development in Australia under treat. Some of the Australian initiatives aimed to cut down its greenhouse emission are outlined
