Spatial distribution of thermal radiation of oxidized heat resisting alloys
Description
Data were obtained on the effect of oxidation time and temperature on the spatial distribution of the radiation of some refractory alloys used extensively in electric furnace building. A radiation method was employed as a tool for study of the spatial distribution. Study was conducted of the integral and spectral directional blackness characteristics for alloys KH20N80, Kh15N60, Kh19N9T, EhI-696, EhI-952, and EhI-626. Results were presented on the impact of oxidative heating conditions on the spatial distribution of epsilonsub(lambda phi). The sample under study taken from alloy Kh15N60 was subjected to oxidation for 20 hours in air at temperatures of 800, 900 and 1000 deg C. Of particular interest is study of the effect of the heating time on the spatial distribution of the spectral blackness. Such studies were carried out on the samples of alloy Kh20N80. It was shown that the higher oxidation temperatures are associated with the greater relative brightness of natural radiation at angles different from the normal. With a thicker oxide film the values of polarized radiation component relative brightness differ vastly, though the degree of polarization becoming lower. Thus, the results obtained suggest that the radiation of oxidated metal surfaces depends markedly on radiation direction
