Description
Indigenous development of rugged neutron detectors has been carried out. These detectors will be used in reactor out-of-core locations for control and safety applications. They have special features such as an all-welded construction and integral m.i. cable assembly. The use of special SS-aluminium clad plates has enabled this design. The detectors can withstand 150 degC temperature, a completely humid environment, neutron fluences up to 1019 nvt, gamma doses up to 1010 rad etc. Boron-10 lined ion chambers with and without gamma compensation have been successfully developed and tested.
