Facility for gamma spectrometry analysis of high and medium level radioactive wastes
Description
Gamma spectroscopy is carried out directly after compacting for improvement of accuracy and characterization of waste before storage. Detector amplifier and analysis system are described. Qualitative and quantitative analysis are realized for waste packaging with dose rate in the range 2 m Gy/Hr to few tens of Gy/Hr. An example of application for characterization of wastes from a cell for spent fuel element dismantling is given

La spectroscopie gamma est effectuee directement sur les colis apres compactage pour ameliorer la precision de la caracterisation des dechets avant leur entreposage. On decrit le detecteur, l'amplificateur et le systeme d'analyse. On peut effectuer des analyses qualitative et quantitative sur des colis de dechets dont les debits de dose au contact varient de 2 m Gy/h a plusieurs dizaines de Gy/h.
