Multiple-mesh-particle scheme for N-body simulation

  • 1. Applied Research Corp., Landover, MD

Description

The authors have developed a 3D, multiple-mesh-particle (MMP) scheme for N-body simulation that would permit automatic, adaptive, local mesh enhancement. This makes it possible to attain the desired high resolution in only specific regions of interest, thereby resulting in a significant saving of computing resources without compromising the accuracy of the results. This is of obvious advantage in the numerical study of such problems as the large-scale clustering in the Universe, and the evolution of star clusters
