Description
Article presents the results of study the kinetics of oxidation of zinc alloy Zn0.5Al, alloyed by strontium of various concentrations. The interaction of zinc alloy Zn0.5Al alloyed by strontium in air oxygen at temperature range 523 ÷ 623 K in solid state has been studied by means of thermogravimetric method. The kinetic and energy parameters of the process of high-temperature oxidation of alloys have been determined. The process of high-temperature oxidation of alloys of Zn-Al-Sr system is characterized by a monotonic decrease in the true rate of oxidation and an increase in the effective activation energy when the content of the alloying component in the zinc alloy Zn0.5Al is up to 0.1 wt %. When the zinc alloy is doped with 0.5 and 1.0 wt % of strontium, a slight increase in the rate of oxidation of alloys is shown. It was revealed that oxidation process of studied alloys with oxygen in the gas phase obeys to a hyperbolic law. It has been found that strontium additions in the range of 0.01 ÷ 0.1 wt % significantly reduce the oxidizability of zinc alloy Zn0.5Al, and the oxidation products of alloys are oxides ZnO, Al2O3, SrO, Al2O3 ∙ ZnO, Al2O3 ∙ SrO.
