NegaWatt scenario 2006 for a sober, efficient and renewable energy future. Synthesis document, Paris, 16 December 2005

Description

This publication proposes an updated version of the scenario proposed in 2003 by the negaWatt association. It recalls the main principles of the negaWatt approach (energy savings, energy efficiency, renewable energies), and then, while recalling results of the previous version, compares and discusses evolutions corresponding to the negaWatt and trend-based scenarios, for fossil/fissile energies and renewable energies, energy saving and efficiency for electric power production, mobility, and heat production. It outlines how the application of the negaWatt scenario would change the energy landscape, and its positive economic and social impacts. It also outlines that this application means a de-concentration and relocation of energy productions.
