Validation of the k0IAEA software at CDTN/CNEN, Brazil

The Laboratory for Neutron Activation Analysis, CDTN/CNEN acquired the k0IAEA software package during the Workshop on Nuclear Data for Activation Analysis, 2005, held at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. After the software being set up according instructions of the guidelines, a validation procedure was carried out at aiming at local laboratory validation of the k0IAEA software. Several reference materials were analyzed by this software and the results compared to the KAYZERO/SOLCOI version Windows, KayWin, a commercial program. The overall results pointed out that the k0IAEA software is working properly but it still needs to be improved and the validation process is not complete as more reference materials should be analyzed. In spite of this fact, the overall results presented small uncertainties and they are also within the range of certified values uncertainties. (author)
