Spectroscopy of the heavy neutron-deficient nuclei 189Pb and 199At and the nucleus 57Ni and development of a detector for evaporation residual nuclei

Description

In this thesis the study of prompt γ-transitions in 189Pb by means of the reaction 157Gd(36Ar,4n) at 173.0 MeV, in 199At by means of the reaction 175Lu(28Si,4n) at 141.0 MeV, and 57Ni by means of the reaction 40Ca(20Ne,2pn) at 68.0 MeV is described. First the evaporation residue detector is described, which is based on the production of secondary electrons in the passage of the recoils through a thin mylar foil (0.5 respectively 2.0 μm thickness). By means of γ-γ coincidence measurements the transitions could be assigned to the specified nuclei. For the studied nuclei level schemes were established and discussed. For 57Ni Jπ assignments have been made by means of a DCO analysis. (HSI)
