99mTc production via the (γ, n) reaction on natural Mo

Description
The worldwide supply of 299Mo isotopes now encounters a serious crisis due to difficulties in sustainable production by research nuclear reactors. We report the experimental data for the 99mTc and impurity isotopes produced via the natMo(γ, n) reaction with bremsstrahlung γ-rays generated using a 30 MeV electron beam. The supply feasibility of 99mTc isotopes via the natMo(γ, n) reaction is discussed on the basis of the obtained data. (author)
