Electrophoretic mobility of the particles of the zirconium dioxide hydrosol

Description
The macroelectrophoresis method has been applied to measuring the electrophoretic mobility of the particles of the zirconium dioxide hydrosol at various concentrations of nitric acid. It has been shown that within the range of concentrations of nitric acid 0.1 to 0.9 M the electrophoretic mobility increases, remaining positive. The electrophoretic mobility markedly diminishes at the concentrations of nictric acid above 0.9 M, which is accompanied by an increase in the concentration of the soluble forms of zirconium in the dispersion medium
